In this 20 minute talk, MIDiA will discuss gaming’s current place in culture (alongside music, video, social media and other entertainment formats), where gaming is and where it is going, especially given current key consumer behaviour and market trends. We will also talk about the implications of current trends on gamers and businesses going forward. The presentation will draw from MIDiA Research’s data and research findings to show the direction in which gamers and games are evolving and why. Topics will include:
  • Who are gamers today? (and how do different generations differ in what gaming means to them?)
  • How consumers allocate time across entertainment
  • The rise of games worlds and digital-consumer needs
  • Games moving from a standalone pastime activity towards an interactive destination for socialising and culture
  • Key trends of the 2020s to be aware of when building (or partnering with) games
(Session is in English / in englischer Sprache)
